milieuvriendelijke vernieuwing in ziekenhuizen.<\/p>\n<p>Wanneer mensen in het ziekenhuis worden opgenomen of medische instellingen bezoeken, komen ze onvermijdelijk in aanraking met allerlei soorten voorgeschreven medicijnen. Met name tijdens een ziekenhuisopname delen verpleegkundigen meerdere keren per dag medicijnen uit, en deze medicijnen zijn vaak voorzien van barcodelabels en pati\u00ebntinformatie.<\/p>\n<p>Hoewel deze verpakkingssystemen een cruciale rol spelen bij het waarborgen van de veiligheid van geneesmiddelen, brengen ze ook een urgent probleem met zich mee: zodra het geneesmiddel is ingenomen, wordt het resterende verpakkingsafval doorgaans als restafval weggegooid.<\/p>\n<p>De meeste van deze materialen zijn niet biologisch afbreekbaar en worden ook niet meegenomen in de recyclingprocessen voor medisch afval. Daardoor is de dagelijkse opeenstapeling van dergelijk \u201cbergachtig\u201d afval van farmaceutische verpakkingen een aanzienlijke milieu-uitdaging voor ziekenhuizen geworden.<\/p>\n<p><img
