medioambiental en los hospitales.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando las personas est\u00e1n ingresadas en un hospital o acuden a centros sanitarios, inevitablemente entran en contacto con diversos tipos de medicamentos recetados. En concreto, durante la hospitalizaci\u00f3n, el personal de enfermer\u00eda administra los medicamentos varias veces al d\u00eda, y estos suelen ir acompa\u00f1ados de etiquetas con c\u00f3digos de barras e informaci\u00f3n sobre el paciente.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien estos sistemas de envasado desempe\u00f1an un papel fundamental a la hora de garantizar la seguridad de los medicamentos, tambi\u00e9n plantean un problema acuciante: una vez tomado el medicamento, los residuos del envase suelen desecharse como residuos generales.<\/p>\n<p>La mayor\u00eda de estos materiales no son biodegradables ni se incluyen en los circuitos de reciclaje de residuos sanitarios. Como consecuencia, la acumulaci\u00f3n diaria de estos residuos de envases farmac\u00e9uticos, que forman \u201cmonta\u00f1as\u201d, se ha convertido en un importante reto medioambiental para los
